The Senior Mobile Application Developer will create and maintain cross-platform mobile applications for the Army Training Information System (ATIS) program. Operating within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile Release Train (ART), the developer will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and cybersecurity teams to deliver secure, high-performance mobile solutions that support Army training management operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript.
- Create native iOS and Android modules when advanced platform capabilities are needed.
- Design and implement scalable mobile architectures covering authentication, state management, navigation, and offline data synchronization.
- Integrate mobile applications with backend APIs and cloud-based services.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across the entire request flow from mobile client to backend systems.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, testing processes, and secure mobile development standards.
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews and mentoring junior developers.
Requirements
- Active secret security clearance is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Active DoDI 8140 certification such as CISSP, CISM, or Security+.
- 5 to 10 or more years of software development experience, including at least 3 years focused on mobile application development.
- Strong proficiency with React Native and TypeScript.
- Proven experience deploying mobile applications to iOS and Android platforms.
- Ability to develop native modules using Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android.
- Experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs and authentication systems.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipeline practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in government, defense, or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of mobile security best practices and OAuth2 or OpenID Connect authentication protocols.
- Experience integrating with cloud-hosted backends including AWS, Azure, or GovCloud.
- Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) or secure app deployment strategies.
- Experience setting up automated mobile testing frameworks.
- Experience implementing mobile telemetry and observability, including tracking user events, performance metrics, and errors.
- Experience designing event taxonomies and instrumentation strategies for product analytics and application monitoring.

Compensation
Target salary range: $100,000 - 170,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
