Gartner, Inc. is looking for a Software Engineer specializing in Salesforce DevOps to join our Salesforce DevOps and Release team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for day-to-day code deployment, CI/CD activities on Salesforce Orgs, and the periodic maintenance of non-production environments, including scheduled Production Releases and Hotfixes.
What You'll Do
- Understand requirements and provide solution options utilizing Salesforce best practices.
- Perform hands-on solution design, proof-of-concepts, development, and testing tasks in support of implementation activities.
- Manage critical customer cases and maintain clear and concise case documentation.
- Work with a cross-functional SCRUM team to maintain and enhance the SFDC Platform.
- Research opportunities to utilize SFDC best practices and guidelines to improve system productivity scaling and monitoring.
- Participate in code reviews, peer inspections, and technical design/specifications.
- Manage incidents and resolutions with a strong emphasis on root cause analysis.
- Execute release activities, pre-post deployment activities and data loader.
- Support on weekends whenever needed.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of relevant experience on the force.com platform, with an understanding of SFDX tools and Salesforce components.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce Setup Objects, administration, and deployment activities.
- Experience deploying code to Salesforce non-production or production orgs.
- Experience in Jenkins Job configurations and DSL, Bitbucket and SFDX / metadata API.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce applications including configuration, process builders, workflows, Custom Settings, and database design.
- Advanced knowledge of Salesforce data model, custom objects, workflows, and configuration.
- Ability to understand current system design and enhance the system to support automation goals.
- Strong Team Player, Critical Thinker, Analytical, and strong Problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of the deployment model, destructive and constructive packages/manifest and provide multiple solutions to unblock development.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce Releases, Support Model and Sandbox Maintenance.
- Must be familiar with Salesforce DevOps model, Changesets, Metadata and Salesforce Setup configurations.
- Able to work independently or within a team proactively in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment.
- Strong desire to improve upon their skills in software development, frameworks, and technologies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience integrating Salesforce with different systems using Webservices (REST or SOAP) or middleware.
- Certified Salesforce.com platform developer or Administrator.
- Experience with OwnBackup, AutoRabbit /Copado, SonarQube or any DevOps tool around the Salesforce platform.
