Candid Health is looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure to lead architecture and technical execution for complex infrastructure challenges. You will drive projects to improve the scalability, performance, and reliability of our core platform, mentor engineers, and influence both technical and business roadmaps.

What You'll Do

Functionally decompose highly complex, ambiguous infrastructure-related problems and address them with simple solutions.
Organize business objectives and stakeholder input into actionable project plans and roadmaps.
Identify new opportunities and untapped areas that lead to significant business impact or customer outcomes.
Stay up to date with technology advancements and evaluate emerging tools for enhancing infrastructure.
Build robust, extensible, reliable, performant, and scalable systems with a long-term vision.
Work with leadership and cross-functional teams to tackle challenging technical problems.
Optimize platform performance and ensure scalability and reliability with large volumes of healthcare data.
Assist in career development, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of learning and excellence.

What We're Looking For

Bachelors or Masters of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or similar degree.
10+ years of experience building software of significant scale and complexity.
Functional mastery of software development, systems design/architecture, and coding.
Expert at scaling systems and making build vs. buy decisions for scalability challenges.
Experience with complex challenges in observability, logging, async event-driven workflows, and distributed systems architecture.
Deep understanding of PostgreSQL databases and scaling techniques: sharding/partitioning, query optimization, schema migration safety & reliability.
Excellent technical vision and knowledge of the right architecture and patterns for enduring value and scale.
Track record of driving major business outcomes end-to-end: identifying problems, creating solutions, influencing prioritization, and driving implementation.
Ability to make the right trade-offs regarding project scope and quality.
Ability to manage ambiguity and deliver results from ambiguous business challenges.
Customer-first and learner’s mindset, with a value for teaching others.
Clear and concise communicator, able to explain complicated ideas simply.
Strives for operational excellence.

Benefits & Compensation

Salary: $209,000 to $283,000 USD + equity, which is heavily valued in our compensation package.
