hyperexponential is hiring an AI Systems Engineer to join our Engineering Velocity team in the UK. This role focuses on accelerating how engineers build, ship, and operate software by applying AI to meaningfully improve developer workflows and productivity.
What You'll Do
- Identify opportunities to apply AI to automate repetitive tasks, accelerate decision-making, and improve how engineers work.
- Define the approach for incorporating AI into engineering workflows and implement the best tools and techniques for real impact.
- Make AI accessible by sharing knowledge, fostering learning, and empowering teammates to contribute to AI-driven projects.
- Tackle challenges with creative solutions that shape the direction of AI within the technology department.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience building internal tooling and platforms for engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience working with LLMs or related AI technologies and applying them to real-world developer workflows.
- Strong DevOps experience with hands-on knowledge of AWS, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and Docker.
- Strong programming skills in Python, including its AI/ML ecosystem (PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
- Ability to think from the user’s perspective and design solutions that align with developer needs.
- Experience taking ownership of projects, leading initiatives from inception to delivery.
- Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
