Google is looking for a Software Engineer III to develop next-generation technologies for the Android platform. You will focus on designing and implementing user-visible features and developer tools for large screen and foldable devices, driving innovation in the ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Drive design, implementation, and delivery for user-visible features on Android for devices like Foldables and Tablets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, UX, application teams, and external partners to build and improve system-level windowing framework functionality.
- Design and implement new tools and APIs for developers in AndroidX and other API surfaces to enable applications for large screen and foldable devices.
- Work with hardware product teams to ship the next generation of Google and Android devices.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience programming in Java or Kotlin.
- 2 years of experience in Android development.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience building applications and APIs.
- Excellent system design skills.
- Passion for building a platform and ecosystem.
- Passion for providing a great developer and user experience.
