Jagex: The RuneScape Company is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer - Core Tech to shape how players first engage with our titles. You will work at the intersection of mobile engineering, platform optimisation, and player experience, delivering scalable, secure solutions for the RuneScape franchise and acting as a subject matter expert.
What You'll Do
- Contribute across the full Software Development Lifecycle, delivering secure-by-design, production-ready code supported by automated testing and reliable deployment.
- Act as a subject matter expert, ensuring technical solutions meet product needs and align with Jagex engineering standards.
- Take ownership of the quality and delivery of complex engineering initiatives, ensuring they meet stakeholder expectations.
- Collaborate across teams and disciplines to deliver scalable, high-impact technical solutions.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve systems, services, and engineering processes, driving continuous improvement.
- Support team effectiveness by helping engineers break down work into clear, value-driven increments and contributing to a resilient production environment.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience with native mobile development across both iOS (Swift / Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin / Java).
- Deep understanding of platform constraints such as lifecycle, permissions, and store policies.
- Proven experience delivering secure, maintainable mobile architecture that interfaces cleanly with backend microservices.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and performance profiling tools.
- Strong debugging, optimisation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate established codebases.
- Demonstrable ability to mentor engineers and contribute to improving engineering standards and best practices.
