Credit Acceptance is looking for a Software Engineer II focused on Mobile Development. In this role, you will design and develop software, write unit tests, participate in code reviews, and contribute to Agile practices. The position offers a primarily work-from-home schedule with occasional travel to our Southfield, Michigan office.

What You'll Do

Design and develop software and improve existing code.
Write unit tests and validate your software against acceptance criteria.
Apply team coding, documenting, and testing standards.
Conduct impact analysis to proactively identify the effect of a change within an application.
Participate in code reviews and communicate application changes.
Document code and projects so others can easily understand, maintain, and support them.
Debug problems which arise in production and propose effective solutions.
Read and write design documents.
Learn the business process domain to better support the business.
Contribute to the team's sprint commitments and actively participate in Agile practices.
Contribute to continuous learning activities to improve design and code quality.
Guide and aid less experienced software engineers.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field; or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 2 years of software engineering experience or comparable depth.
Use of one or more object-oriented programming languages and design patterns.
Proficiency in React Native Mobile Development.
Practical experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including Agile/SCRUM and Waterfall.
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

Nice to Have

Experience in mobile development using Flutter.
Advanced understanding of IDEs and ability to navigate through them quickly.
In-depth understanding of APIs and frameworks: JSON, Rest/SOAP based Web Services, JUnit, Jenkins, and Bitbucket.
Experience in API security, analytics, throttling, caching, logging, and request/response modifications.
Experience creating REST API documentation using Swagger or similar tools.
Ability to use DDL to create database objects and relationships and construct advanced queries.
Financial services industry experience.
