PlayStation Global is looking for a Software Engineer to create amazing experiences for gamers worldwide. You will design and develop end-to-end applications for the PlayStation platform, including PS5 and the PlayStation App, working at a huge scale with over one hundred million Monthly Active Users. Your work will directly impact features like Game Help and Trophies.
What You'll Do
- Work as part of an Agile Scrum team to design and develop end-to-end React/React-Native/JavaScript-based applications in the front-end and Java/JS/GraphQL in the backend.
- Support and develop SDK/Sample Programs in native C++ code as needed.
- Develop server components.
- Work closely with Product Owners and Product Managers to translate product requirements into well-structured, maintainable code.
- Collaborate with teams from multiple functions to define and refine technical approaches that support performance, accessibility, and scalability.
- Create design documents, incorporating feedback from subject matter experts across the department.
- Continuously learn, experiment, and bring forward innovative ideas — participate in Hackathons and Café Days to help shape the future of PlayStation experiences.
- Contribute to evolving engineering standards and advocate for clean, sustainable coding practices.
- Mentor and support junior engineers.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Solid base in Computer Science, understanding of OOP, Data Structures, and Design Patterns.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- 3+ years of experience designing and developing client applications, plus experience in services integration.
- Strong programming skills using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, JSON.
- Passionate about quality and writing clean, readable code that scales and performs well.
- A collaborative teammate, a fast learner, with a positive and can-do attitude.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and experience with frameworks such as React and React Native.
- Experience developing and debugging cross-platform applications for environments such as iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
- Strong knowledge of native development, eg Objective-C / Swift (iOS), Java (Android).
- Experience working with performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design principles.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with React Native bridges and native integrations using Objective-C, Swift, or C++.
- Experience with GraphQL, REST APIs, and containerization tools such as Docker.
- Experience with server development in Java, Python, or other service development languages.
- Curiosity about AI-assisted development tools or automation that improves developer productivity.
- Experience working in Gaming, Digital Media Services, Device Software.
- Experience working with a large multi-cultural team that values collaboration and inclusive professional conduct.
