About the Role
The role involves building and maintaining software systems that process geological and geophysical data, integrate machine learning models, and support decision-making in mineral exploration. Engineers will collaborate with scientists and engineers to design scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software systems for processing and analyzing large geoscientific datasets
- Develop tools and pipelines to support machine learning workflows in exploration contexts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate domain knowledge into software solutions
- Build scalable backend services and data processing infrastructure
- Ensure software reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Work with geoscientists to translate research concepts into production systems
- Contribute to architectural decisions and system design
- Write clean, well-documented, and testable code
- Support deployment and monitoring of software in production environments
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Stay current with advancements in software engineering and geoscience technologies
- Optimize data storage and retrieval for large-scale datasets
- Develop APIs for internal and external data access
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in existing systems
- Contribute to project planning and estimation
Nice to Have
- Master’s or PhD in a technical or scientific field
- Experience working with geospatial or remote sensing data
- Background in machine learning or data science
- Contributions to open-source software projects
- Experience in startups or research-driven organizations
