Walmart seeks a Software Engineer to transform business requirements into robust technical solutions. You will participate in project discovery, provide high-level design, develop and test code, and ensure on-time delivery while supporting the business and mentoring a small team.
What You'll Do
- Partner with product and business teams in the discovery phase to create high-level designs for small to medium-sized projects.
- Troubleshoot business and production issues by performing root cause analysis and driving action plans.
- Manage complex projects by translating requirements into technical solutions, writing code, conducting unit testing, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Provide support to the business by researching solutions and addressing user questions and concerns.
- Assist in guiding small groups of two to three engineers, including offshore associates.
- Conduct requirement analysis, prepare requirement traceability matrices, and contribute to user story creation.
- Create and configure code for components, ensuring they meet business, technical, non-functional, and security standards.
- Map customer requirements into test objectives, create and execute test cases, and perform various testing types.
- Track and analyze defects, perform regression testing, and troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks.
- Conduct complex application maintenance independently, monitor performance metrics, and evaluate change requests.
- Ensure project adherence to approved milestones and timelines through program monitoring.
- Coordinate job-related activities by developing stakeholder relationships and supporting plans to meet business needs.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and recognition.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of traceability matrices, risk analysis, cost analysis, business objectives, classification of requirements, and user stories.
- Knowledge of coding standards and guidelines; languages like JavaScript, Python, C#; frameworks such as ActiveX, .Net, Cocoa, Android application framework; tools like Monday.com, Linx, Embold; and platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, Apple IOS.
- Knowledge of quality, safety, and security standards (e.g., PCI), emerging tools, and telemetry for coding.
- Knowledge of test case preparation, test strategy, test types, and tools like Selenium, Jira, Eggplant.
- Knowledge of the defect life-cycle process, tracking tools, regression testing, and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of operating systems, software maintenance and monitoring tools, debugging, reverse engineering, and design methodologies for DevOps.
- Knowledge of program metrics, reporting tools, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD).
- Experience with Agile Methodology, Software Design, and Project Management.
