Responsibilities
- Design and build reliable software systems while ensuring ongoing testing and maintenance.
- Convert product and business needs into organized, scalable technical designs.
- Produce code that is clear, optimized, and easy to sustain using industry best practices.
- Work closely with product teams, designers, and developers to implement features from start to finish.
- Engage in code review processes, offering helpful input and absorbing insights from team members.
- Identify, analyze, and fix issues in production to maintain system reliability.
- Take part in technical planning discussions, guided by senior engineering staff.

- Occasional travel may be necessary depending on business demands, though it is infrequent for most positions. Travel can include various modes such as air, car, or public transit. Under ADA guidelines, reasonable adjustments for travel restrictions are available. Higher travel expectations apply to specific roles: Account Executives (25–50%), senior leaders (10–20%), and Capella Core Faculty (5–10%).
- Some roles may require working on-site at corporate or campus locations, involving movement throughout office spaces, including between floors via stairs or elevators. For hybrid or remote roles, employees must have a suitable workspace with privacy, stable internet, phone access, and video conferencing capability. Faculty and Federal Work Study roles also require remote work setup meeting job standards. Occasional lifting may be needed; accommodations provided per ADA.
