Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company, is hiring a Software Developer/Senior Scientist I/II for Laboratory Automation. You will drive the automation initiative in our R&D environment, supporting the global transformation towards Laboratory 4.0. Your work will involve developing applications for data handling, system integration, device control, and user interfaces, and implementing complex automation solutions.
What You'll Do
- Independently develop applications in data handling, system and database (ELN, LIMS) integration, device control, and user interfaces.
- Independently implement highly complex automation solutions and lead proof-of-concept (POC) execution across various departments.
- Analyze and screen workflows to identify, conceptualize, realize, and document automation possibilities.
- Lead participation in initiatives to improve automation processes within AbbVie.
- Take interface responsibility between our automation group and our internal Information Research (IR) IT group.
What We're Looking For
- Senior Scientist I: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 10 years of experience, Master’s/Engineering degree in bioinformatics, IT, or related field with 8 years of experience, or PhD with relevant experience.
- Senior Scientist II: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 12 years of experience, Master’s/Engineering degree in bioinformatics, IT, or related field with 10 years of experience, or PhD with 4 years of experience.
- Excellent programming skills and experience with agile software development (C#, C++ and/or Python).
Nice to Have
- Experience in application development focusing on data transformation and AI.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Git.
- Experience in laboratory automation, LIMS, and ELN.
- Experience with driver development and API interfaces.
- Basic understanding of laboratory workflows and processes in pharmaceutical development.
- Experience with processes and requirements in regulated environments.
