Jobgether is hiring a Software Application Developer to design, build, and deploy secure, scalable cloud-native applications supporting mission-critical federal programs. You will modernize Department of Defense applications using technologies like AWS Lambda and Ruby on Rails within an agile, cross-functional team.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and deploy serverless applications using AWS Lambda and Ruby on Rails Gems.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs and cloud-native backend services.
Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to translate user requirements into secure, efficient technical solutions.
Participate in pair programming, unit/integration testing, sprint planning, and user story refinement.
Maintain and update technical documentation, contributing to shared knowledge repositories.
Recommend and implement enhancements to improve system performance, reliability, and security.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire).
8+ years of software development experience, preferably in secure, distributed systems.
Proficiency in Ruby, Ruby Gems, AWS Lambda, RESTful APIs, and backend development.
Hands-on experience with GitHub, Jira, Confluence, and agile DevSecOps practices.
Background in Java development and integration with PostgreSQL or GraphQL.
Familiarity with JavaScript front-end frameworks.
Strong collaboration and communication skills for remote agile teams.

Nice to Have

AWS Certification.
Active or previous DoD security clearance.
Knowledge of DoD secure coding standards, DISA STIGs, and NIST 800-53 compliance frameworks.
