About the Role
Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend systems that automate the discovery and removal of personal data across third-party data brokers and online sources.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build robust backend services in Node.js for data processing and workflow automation
- Design systems that scale to handle large volumes of data removal requests
- Collaborate with product and security teams to define technical requirements
- Own the end-to-end development lifecycle for core automation features
- Improve system reliability, observability, and performance
- Evaluate and integrate third-party data sources and APIs
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations such as CCPA and GDPR
- Mentor engineers and promote best practices in code quality and system design
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across distributed systems
- Contribute to technical documentation and system architecture diagrams
- Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention in data removal processes
- Implement monitoring and alerting for critical data workflows
- Optimize data pipelines for speed and accuracy
- Support secure handling of sensitive personal information
- Work closely with operations to refine data matching and validation logic
- Evaluate new technologies to improve system capabilities
- Participate in code reviews and system design discussions
- Ensure high availability and fault tolerance in production environments
- Develop tools for internal teams to manage data removal operations
- Maintain clean, testable, and maintainable codebases
- Respond to evolving privacy laws with technical adaptations
- Lead technical projects from concept to deployment
- Collaborate on incident response and post-mortem analysis
- Contribute to long-term technical roadmap planning
- Ensure secure authentication and authorization across services
