SplitMetrics is seeking a Python Engineer for the engineering team of its Acquire product. In this role, you will build and scale high-load Python systems processing data pipelines and distributed async processing systems.
What You'll Do
- Build and scale high-load Python systems processing.
- Develop data pipeline architectures using Kafka for real-time event streaming and StarRocks for OLAP queries.
- Build and maintain distributed async processing systems with Celery handling operations across priority queues.
- Integrate with microservices via gRPC/RabbitMQ for ML-based bid recommendations and analytics.
- Build RESTful APIs handling bulk operations with Django REST Framework.
- Improve system reliability through monitoring, alerting, and graceful degradation patterns.
- Instrument applications with APM tools (Datadog), metrics collection (Prometheus), and error tracking (Sentry).
- Work with message queue systems (RabbitMQ/AMQP) for asynchronous cross-service communication.
- Optimize complex SQL queries and database for performance.
- Participate in architectural decisions balancing technical excellence with business impact.
What We're Looking For
- Over 3 years of professional experience working with Python.
- Proficient in Django and Django Rest Framework.
- Hands-on experience with data storage solutions such as PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Skilled in scaling microservices architectures and managing service-to-service communication.
- Experienced with modern CI/CD practices and tools.
- Proven ability to establish and optimize development processes for better team productivity.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTTP, HTML5, client/server architecture, and security principles.
- Focused on aligning technical decisions with business objectives to deliver value-driven solutions.
- B1 English level.
Nice to Have
- Experience with OLAP systems (StarRocks, ClickHouse, Redshift).
- gRPC and Protocol Buffers experience.
- Ad tech or marketing automation platform experience.
- AWS infrastructure experience (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS/EKS).
- Kubernetes or container orchestration experience.
