Equifax is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability and performance of our large-scale, distributed systems. You'll solve operational challenges through engineering, ensuring services meet expectations across cloud-native and hybrid architectures.
What You'll Do
- Manage system uptime across AWS, GCP, and hybrid environments.
- Build infrastructure as code patterns using Terraform, cloud CLI scripting, and cloud SDK programming.
- Construct CI/CD pipelines for application and cloud architecture using Jenkins and cloud-native toolchains.
- Develop automated tooling for service requests and comprehensive runbooks for detection, remediation, and restoration.
- Triage complex distributed architecture issues, participate in on-call rotations for high-severity incidents, and improve runbooks to reduce MTTR.
- Lead blameless postmortems for availability issues and own the action plans to prevent recurrence.
What We're Looking For
- BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent job experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in software engineering, systems administration, database administration, and networking.
- 2+ years developing or administering software in a public cloud environment.
- Experience monitoring infrastructure and application uptime and availability.
- Proficiency in languages like Python, Bash, Java, Go, JavaScript, and/or node.js.
- Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge of systems, storage, networking, security, and databases.
- System administration skills, including automation of Linux/Windows with Terraform, Chef, Ansible, and/or containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices and tooling.
Nice to Have
- A relevant Cloud Certification is strongly preferred.
