Akamai Technologies is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer II to join our team. You will ensure the optimal performance and uptime of our microservices-based Portal platform, maintaining critical infrastructure while collaborating with operations and development teams. Your work developing tools and software will directly enhance system reliability.
What You'll Do
- Deploy and maintain internal platforms and tools to support daily operations while reducing manual effort.
- Ensure product reliability, scalability, usability, and overall system availability by partnering with teams.
- Troubleshoot complex issues using automation, scripting, and systems programming techniques.
- Collaborate across engineering, operations, and support to resolve and investigate technical problems.
- Improve the Portal platform for faster error detection, better performance, and enhanced system reliability.
- Participate in on-call rotations while contributing to service restoration, stability improvements, and code enhancements.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience as a Systems Performance Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills while managing tasks with incomplete information.
- Demonstrated observability and monitoring expertise, including adherence to SLOs.
- Ability to minimize toil through automation utilizing Python, Golang, and scripting languages.
- Experience utilizing Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and Linux.

- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
