Scotiabank is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to manage team workflow and enhance system reliability across our enterprise platforms. In this role, you’ll be central to ensuring our production applications perform efficiently while supporting a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to Canadians.
What You'll Do
- Manage team workflow to maximize business and technical efficiencies and develop team members' technical capabilities.
- Supervise the IT Support team; assign and prioritize production incidents and problems; train and coach staff.
- Ensure all production issues are resolved within SLAs and user requests are completed satisfactorily.
- Provide investigation and second-level support for client issues, technical issues, and system outages.
- Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
- Improve the reliability, quality, and time-to-market of the software solutions.
- Measure and optimize system performance to innovate and improve continually.
- Maintain production applications and day-to-day operational activities, manage escalations, and coordinate recovery efforts including 24x7 support.
- Participate in defining SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for Enterprise Systems.
- Gather and analyze metrics from applications and infrastructure for performance tuning and fault finding.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience managing team workflows and supervising technical support teams.
- Strong background in providing second-level support for production incidents, outages, and client issues.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure production issues are resolved within SLAs.
- Experience running production environments, monitoring availability, and analyzing system health.
- Skill in measuring and optimizing system performance for continuous improvement.
- Experience maintaining production applications and managing operational activities, escalations, and 24x7 recovery efforts.
- Familiarity with defining and working within SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
- Ability to gather and analyze metrics from applications and infrastructure for tuning and diagnostics.
