The Boeing Company is hiring a Senior Site Reliability DevOps Specialist to join the global Cloud Technical/Development team. In this role, you will execute the Infrastructure and Operations cloud strategy, with a laser focus on the design, reliability, and scalability of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. You will ensure an always-available experience while maintaining stringent standards for cost, efficiency, and security.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain a resilient, secure, and efficient cloud-hosted platform to meet established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and Ansible for the design, deployment, and management of secure enterprise infrastructure.
- Engage with cross-functional, globally distributed teams on troubleshooting, automation, and architectural decisions.
- Coordinate with Cloud and Engineering teams to build, monitor, and maintain a secure cloud-hosted infrastructure via automation.
- Configure and tune cloud-based tools, managing cost, security, and compliance of the Boeing Cloud.
- Design, build, and maintain environment-specific alerts and dashboards using analytics tools like Google Cloud Monitoring.
- Monitor and resolve site stability and performance issues, including incident management and post-mortem analysis.
- Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and orchestration tools like Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab, specifically in GCP environments.
- 5+ years of experience developing software products in a cloud computing environment, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- 3+ years of experience designing cloud architectures on GCP, including multi-cloud strategies and microservices.
- Experience with GCP networking concepts like VPCs, subnets, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Experience with GCP security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with GCP monitoring and logging tools like Google Cloud Operations Suite and Google Security Command Center.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go for automating tasks within GCP.
- Experience with disaster recovery strategies and backup solutions specific to GCP environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) to complement GCP expertise.
- Experience with collaboration tools including Jira, Confluence, or Slack.
- Experience with GCP managed database services, such as Cloud SQL, Firestore, or Bigtable.
- Experience developing, designing, and supporting Kubernetes as a Service-based solutions.
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest GCP technologies.
