About the Role
The translator will work on patent-related materials, delivering precise and terminologically consistent German translations from Simplified Chinese source texts.
Responsibilities
- Translate patent documents from Simplified Chinese into German
- Ensure technical accuracy and adherence to patent language conventions
- Maintain consistency in terminology across translations
- Follow client-specific style and formatting guidelines
- Meet assigned deadlines for translation deliverables
- Review and revise translations based on feedback
- Collaborate with project managers on clarification requests
- Use translation tools and resources as required
- Report any ambiguities or issues in source texts
- Participate in quality assurance processes
- Stay updated on changes in patent terminology
- Handle confidential and proprietary information securely
- Adapt tone and structure to match target language standards
- Work independently while meeting quality benchmarks
- Communicate effectively about project progress
Nice to Have
- Experience translating for European or international patent offices
- Knowledge of Chinese patent practices
- Familiarity with PCT documentation
- Background in engineering, chemistry, or IT
- Previous work in regulated industries
