Role Overview
Immediate openings are available for Siemens Gamesa Certified Wind Turbine Troubleshooters to support critical operations at wind farms throughout the United States and Canada. This position demands a high level of technical expertise, physical endurance, and the ability to lead small teams in remote and demanding environments. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex faults on Siemens G145 turbines, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel frequently to project sites across North America, often on short notice, and remain on location for extended periods
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems on certified turbine platforms
- Lead and supervise small crews, ensuring team members meet safety, performance, and training standards
- Maintain accurate records of technical interventions, safety incidents, and maintenance activities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance, including component replacements, retrofits, and system upgrades
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies rigorously, working at heights exceeding 90 meters
- Contribute to team development by mentoring others and sharing technical knowledge on the job
- Operate and troubleshoot using advanced tools and systems, including touchscreen hand terminals and ERAD
Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate proven experience and meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of three years troubleshooting Siemens Gamesa G114, G126, G132, SG145, or Vestas 3.X/4.X turbines
- Valid passport and eligibility to work and travel in Canada for extended rotations
- Ability to work an 8-week on, 1-week off schedule with frequent long-distance travel
- Physical capability to climb turbines, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks requiring strength and balance
- Proficiency in English—reading, writing, and speaking—is required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record; must be at least 21 to operate company vehicles
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical maintenance procedures
- Experience with grease guns, filter changes, torquing, tensioning, and service documentation
- Ability to work safely in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold
- Pass a satisfactory criminal background check
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Siemens Gamesa Family 3 turbine systems
- Training or field experience with touchscreen controller hand terminals
Work Environment
This is an onsite role with assignments rotating across the U.S. and Canada. Technicians must be prepared for extended travel, long driving days, and working outdoors in all weather conditions. The schedule follows an 8-week on, 1-week off rotation, supporting continuous project needs.
