Capacity Path is seeking a Short term Disaster Cadre (AOS) to provide crucial mental health and wellness support in the immediate aftermath of disasters. This is a short-term, on-call role where you will deploy to disaster-affected areas, including Alaska as a current priority, to deliver culturally-informed, trauma-informed care to survivors.
What You'll Do
- Provide mental health, counseling, or trauma healing support to disaster survivors.
- Support and honor survivors with cultural clarity, especially within Native tribal communities.
- Collaborate in a fast-paced team environment during crisis response.
- Utilize strong communication, coaching, crisis care, and documentation skills.
What We're Looking For
- Relevant experience in crisis care, response, or support settings.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability and willingness to travel to disaster-affected areas when deployed (this is not a remote position).
- If licensed or certified, provide current documentation of credentials.
Nice to Have
- Experience in high-stress, crisis, or emergency environments.
- Understanding of emotional/logistical challenges faced by disaster survivors and/or first responders.
- Mental health or related crisis counseling/trauma healing background.
- Connection or relation to Native tribal communities.
- Passion and resilience to serve in unpredictable, high-impact environments.
- NIMS/ICS training.
Team & Environment
You will be part of a Disaster Cadre/Crisis Care Task Force.
