What You'll Do
Oversee the administration of absence and disability programs, ensuring alignment with federal and state regulations including FMLA, ADA, and Short-Term Disability policies. Guide teams in processing and evaluating claims with accuracy and legal compliance, conducting regular audits to uphold quality standards.
Lead and mentor case management staff through coaching, development planning, and performance oversight. Facilitate continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, streamlining workflows, and recommending operational enhancements. Represent client interests in governance discussions and renewal planning, providing expert consultation on leave policy application and risk trends.
Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze claims data, surface insights, and communicate risks or opportunities to leadership. Support the design and documentation of best practices that promote efficiency, compliance, and service excellence across programs.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of management experience in U.S. leave and disability management
- Minimum 2 years of people leadership experience
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local leave laws and regulatory frameworks
- Proven ability to manage complex cases and ensure adherence to compliance standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of case management experience, particularly with complex or high-risk claims
- Experience managing mental health-related disability cases
- Background in client or account management with strong communication and presentation abilities
- Post-secondary education in Health Sciences, Business, Human Resources, Counseling, or a related field
- Professional certification in HR, Disability Management, or Wellness & Health Promotion is a plus
- Spanish language proficiency is beneficial
