Lead, optimize, and ensure compliance in absence and disability management programs by overseeing case operations, guiding teams, and maintaining alignment with federal and state regulations including FMLA, ADA, and Short-Term Disability policies. This role is central to upholding service quality, data accuracy, and legal adherence across client accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply in-depth knowledge of U.S. leave laws and disability frameworks to guide case resolution and support complex decision-making.
- Supervise end-to-end case management, stepping in to resolve escalated or high-risk claims when necessary.
- Conduct regular audits and operational reviews to ensure compliance, accuracy, and process efficiency.
- Lead client governance discussions, contribute to renewal planning, and serve as a trusted advisor on policy interpretation and program improvements.
- Identify trends in claims data, flag risks, and recommend process enhancements to improve outcomes and reduce operational burden.
- Develop and refine workflows to support continuous improvement, compliance, and service delivery standards.
- Coach and develop team members through training, performance feedback, and individual development planning.
- Monitor daily operations using performance metrics and analytical reporting to drive accountability and service excellence.
Qualifications
Candidates must have at least two years of management experience in U.S. leave and disability administration, including direct people leadership. A strong grasp of federal and state leave legislation is essential. A post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Health Sciences, Business, or a related field is preferred, though significant experience in disability management may substitute for formal education.
Additional assets include certification in HR or disability management, experience managing mental health-related claims, bilingual proficiency in Spanish, and a background in client or account management.
