Directive is hiring a SEO Strategist (Remote US)

As an SEO Strategist, you'll play a central role in shaping and executing custom SEO and content strategies that drive real business growth for B2B technology and SaaS clients. You’ll translate marketing objectives into actionable plans using insights from keyword research, competitive analysis, and performance data.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and refine SEO strategies based on client goals, campaign performance, and historical data to improve Net Sales Metrics (NSM).
  • Use analytics platforms like Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, and CRM data to define KPIs and track progress.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create content briefs and campaigns informed by audience and competitor research.
  • Manage project execution using Asana, assign tasks to specialists, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality work.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and internal teams, maintaining clear communication through regular updates via Slack and scheduled meetings.
  • Present strategy, goals, and performance reports to clients alongside leadership, including monthly and quarterly reviews and bi-annual business reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client engagements through upsells, cross-service adoption, and referrals.
  • Escalate strategic challenges and growth opportunities to leadership when needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience implementing SEO strategies with measurable outcomes, particularly in agency or B2B tech environments.
  • Strong command of SEO tools including Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, and crawling technologies.
  • Ability to analyze traffic patterns, technical SEO factors, and conversion data to inform strategy.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with experience managing multiple client timelines.
  • Comfortable leading client relationships, presenting insights, and managing expectations.
  • Passion for staying current with digital marketing trends, including the application of AI and automation in SEO and content workflows.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position open to candidates in the US. The company operates as a remote-first organization with optional access to an office in Irvine, California.
