About the Role
Mod Op is on the hunt for a Search Strategist who lives and breathes the dynamic intersection of data, creativity, and AI-powered innovation. We need a detail-oriented SEO pro who's ready to redefine search in the AI era.
In this role, you'll spearhead scalable SEO strategies across diverse client websites, optimizing for today's search engines and tomorrow's generative ecosystems.
From Core Web Vitals to the bleeding edge of generative search (think Google SGE, Bing Copilot, and beyond), you'll drive high-impact initiatives that boost visibility, performance, and long-term discoverability. This isn't just SEO — it's reimagining how search works.
What You'll Do
· Craft LLM-ready SEO strategies that bridge traditional and generative search
· Dive deep into keyword/topic research with entity optimization and semantic structure as your north star
· Conduct technical audits (crawlability, indexing, CWV, structured data) using AI-first frameworks
· Master local SEO: GMB optimization, citation building, NAP consistency
· Manage off-page SEO efforts: link-building campaigns, backlink analysis, digital PR
· Collaborate across dev, UX, content, and analytics teams to implement SEO best practices
· Analyze and create comprehensive search performance reports
· Leverage AI tools to automate tasks: new business initiatives, content prompting, schema generation, performance forecasting
· Participate in CRO and A/B testing to elevate site experience and conversion
· Stay razor-sharp on search algorithm updates and evolving search platforms
Tools You'll Use
· SEO & Analytics: GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, SurferSEO
· AI & Automation: ChatGPT / Gemini (prompting), BrightEdge, Jasper, Looker Studio, Python (bonus)
· CRO, A/B & UX: VWO, Hotjar, Crazy Egg, Lucky Orange
· Workflow & Tagging: Jira, Google Tag Manager, Bright Local, Airtable
Requirements
Requirements we're Looking for:
· A true team player who thrives in collaborative environments
· Fluent English communication (written and verbal)
· 5+ years of SEO & Search experience in agency or high-growth digital settings
· Deep technical SEO expertise, content architecture mastery, and local search prowess
· Proven experience preparing sites for AI-era search (SGE, Copilot, Perplexity, etc.)
· Solid understanding of structured data, conversational search, and entity optimization
· Comfortable with HTML, schema markup, and CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, etc.)
· Analytical powerhouse with the ability to interpret data and craft compelling insights
· Communication skills that are clear, concise, and client-ready
· Self-starter who navigates collaboration and ambiguity with ease
· Bonus: International SEO or JavaScript-heavy environment experience
