As a Senior/Lead Cloud Automation Developer, you will drive the design and implementation of automated cloud infrastructure across private and public environments. You'll build robust, reusable solutions on the VMware Cloud Foundation platform and integrate with third-party systems using API-driven approaches. Your work will directly impact enterprise-scale deployments, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement infrastructure-as-code using JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Terraform, Ansible, or configuration management tools like SaltStack, Chef, or Puppet.
- Develop modular, maintainable frameworks and libraries applying SOLID principles to support long-term scalability.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and monitoring workflows using VMware Aria Suite and vCloud Director.
- Integrate cloud platforms with external services via RESTful APIs and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.
- Collaborate with customers during presales and delivery phases to translate business needs into technical designs.
- Lead development efforts by defining work breakdown structures, reviewing peer contributions, and mentoring team members in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Champion innovation by identifying optimization opportunities and advancing internal engineering practices.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years in cloud automation, integration, and customization projects.
- Deep experience with at least one major cloud platform—VMware, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proven ability in scripting (Python, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell) or object-oriented programming (C#, Java, Node.js).
- Hands-on expertise with IaC tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including IP addressing, routing, DNS, TCP/IP, and firewall configurations.
- Experience leading technical teams in Agile settings with strong communication skills in international contexts.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and collaborative mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
- Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation and related VMware products, ideally with certifications.
- Experience supporting customers across EMEA regions.
- Background in solution architecture, including defining or refining technical designs.
