Monks is looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer on a contract basis to own the visual and interaction redesign of a key web experience. You'll lead the end-to-end UI direction, elevating the product's look, feel, and narrative through exceptional visual craft and autonomous ownership.
What You'll Do
- Own the redesign process end-to-end, driving UI/visual direction with strong leadership and accountability.
- Lead the visual and interaction design of web experiences from concept to final UI.
- Translate strategic direction and structured content into narrative-driven, visually compelling interfaces.
- Create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes with strong hierarchy, motion, and personality.
- Establish, evolve, and document design systems, layout principles, and component libraries.
- Collaborate and participate in client meetings, presenting work and influencing decisions with clarity.
- Partner with stakeholders, content, product, and engineering to ensure designs are compelling and buildable.
- Define interaction patterns and micro-interactions that enhance usability and overall experience.
- Work autonomously, managing your process, priorities, and deliverables with minimal supervision.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of relevant digital/web design experience, with a strong UI-focused portfolio.
- Proven leadership and ownership of redesign projects with end-to-end responsibility.
- Exceptional visual/UI craft in typography, composition, hierarchy, spacing, and layout.
- Ability to confidently articulate and sell visual design rationale to clients and stakeholders.
- Strong experience interacting with clients in meetings, including presenting and handling feedback.
- Proficiency in Figma and experience working with design systems, both creation and evolution.
- Strong stakeholder management and ownership of design processes; highly autonomous and proactive.
- Strong prototyping skills and attention to interaction detail.
- Excellent client-facing communication, collaboration, and expectation management.
- A B2+ English level is required.

- Experience with Figma Make.
- Familiarity with Cloud Code.
- Prototyping with AI tools and workflows.
