YouTube is hiring a Senior UX Writer and Content Designer to join its Ads Viewer Experiences Team, which designs the ad experiences seen by millions on the platform. In this role, you will be an advocate for Google design, shaping product experiences by creating useful, meaningful text that helps users complete tasks. You'll help set the vision for content and drive cohesive product narratives across multiple platforms.
What You'll Do
- Transform ambiguous product issues into clear user experience solutions by creating high-quality content across all user touchpoints, from concise microcopy to engaging surveys.
- Establish and own product-specific content guidelines.
- Articulate the reasoning behind design decisions to stakeholders and proactively seek feedback to iteratively refine content.
- Advocate for user needs by formulating content design hypotheses based on research, solving problems that bridge user expectations with business objectives.
- Guide partners on content best practices and lead workshops to align YouTube priorities.
- Manage projects independently, improve workflows, and coordinate global translations using the advertising community.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in UX writing, content design, technical writing, editorial, marketing, or a related field, including leading content strategy projects.
- Experience in UX-focused product writing and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.
- Experience with AI prompt writing or model UX.
- Experience with localization and accessibility best practices.
- A portfolio, website, or other relevant link to your work included with your application.
Nice to Have
- 5 years of experience interacting with executive leadership.
- 5 years of writing, editorial, marketing, or UX writing experience in an agency setting.
- 3 years of experience working in a cross-functional technology organization.
- Experience developing information architecture for documentation sets or product suites.
- Knowledge of online technology and related products, including web and mobile UI and tools.
- Familiarity with user experience research principles and practices and using data to provide insights.
Team & Environment
You will work with a variety of UX design-related roles, including researchers, product managers, engineers, marketing, and customer operations. The role involves collaboration with different cross-functional disciplines and content User Experience Researchers across Ads.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $144,000 - $211,000 + equity.
Work Mode
This role is based locally in Mountain View, CA, New York, NY, or San Bruno, CA.
