Ford is looking for a Mobile Product Designer to join our team. You will collaborate with the Mobile App Team to design, prototype, and implement user experiences for Ford's mobile applications. This role involves driving designs, user flows, and design system implementation to create intuitive and engaging mobile experiences that integrate with the Ford software ecosystem.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design of features and improvements for our products ensuring they align with business objectives and user needs.
- Balance UX and UI design, taking things from wireframe through to highly polished and compelling visual user interface.
- Use Figma to develop mobile app features and compelling user experiences.
- Craft and manage backlog stories that represent your work.
- Take ownership of independent tracks of design work and manage timelines and deliverables.
- Develop and iterate on user flows, mock-ups and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
- Apply data driven insights to inform design decisions and measure the impact of design changes.
- Express our brand vision through user interface design for mobile app experiences.
- Execute designs with a keen sensibility to layout, color, typography and interactive behavior.
- Exhibit a passion for emerging hardware and software technologies, new interaction models, product design, and excellence in visual design.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering and Feature Teams to ensure a seamless transition from concept to implementation.
- Employ a systematic approach to solving large, complex design challenges with command of and collaboration with the Design System team.
- Present creative work early and often to key stakeholders in design reviews.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design ideas and interactions.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree, or educational /experience equivalent or in Product design, Graphic design, or interaction design.
- 5+ years of experience in Mobile product design.
- High performing proficiency in Figma.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of mobile app design projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of user experience principles and design processes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire team members and stakeholders.
- Portfolio of your work for review is required upon application.
Nice to Have
- Exceptional visual and mobile design skills.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with Design System implementation.
- Proficiency in human-centered design approaches, techniques and philosophy.
- Automotive UI/HMI experience is a plus.
- Background in digital product design solutions.
- Excellent concepting, written, oral and visual communication abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
- Background working through iterative product design cycles.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Delivered several mobile app experiences through production and in-market.
- Knowledge or ability to create motion and or 3D modeling is a bonus.
- Any coding or development skills is a bonus.
