Emma – The Sleep Company is looking for a Senior UX Product Designer to take ownership of complex, mission-critical internal systems that support our core operations. You will have real impact on how scalable, efficient, and future-ready our internal products and design systems become.
What You'll Do
- Work within product teams alongside Product Managers and developers to drive discovery, design, and delivery for internal products.
- Actively shape problem spaces and solution directions with Product and Engineering, helping define opportunities and priorities.
- Contribute to roadmap decisions by balancing company vision, business objectives, internal user needs, operational constraints, and long-term maintainability.
- Create designs that increase value for internal users and the business, grounded in data and direct user input.
- Take ownership of engaging with internal users, running fast validation activities such as usability testing and feedback sessions.
- Design and improve complex workflows and system interactions, focusing on efficiency, clarity, and reliability in data-heavy and role-based environments.
- Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation, aligning on feasibility, system constraints, and sustainable solutions.
- Support and mentor other designers, helping elevate the overall quality, consistency, and impact of UX across internal products.
- Contribute to a culture of structured problem-solving and pragmatic decision-making, bringing clarity to ambiguous situations.
- Take shared ownership of the design system, contributing to its evolution to ensure consistency and long-term maintainability.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in and helping steer product teams focused on internal digital products, ideally in complex or operational environments.
- Experience designing, building, and shipping end-to-end user flows for internal tools, including complex workflows, permissions, or data-driven interfaces.
- Strong proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Comfort owning user research and validation yourself, directly engaging with internal users to gather insights and test designs.
- Strong interaction design skills, defining behavior and workflows based on a deep understanding of internal user needs, business goals, and scalability.
- Strong visual design skills, with a high bar for quality in typography, layout, and UI execution, even in data-dense contexts.
- Hands-on experience working with and evolving design systems, designing scalable, reusable components and patterns.
- Strong business sense and prioritization skills, understanding operational constraints and making pragmatic design decisions.
- Proactive problem-solver and critical thinker, comfortable challenging assumptions and collaborating closely with Product and Engineering partners.
- Experience presenting design work to product teams and stakeholders, clearly articulating decisions.
