About the Role
You will lead the development and governance of the design system, working cross-functionally to implement reusable components and improve the design-to-development workflow.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain design tokens, component libraries, and UI patterns
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate implementation of design system elements
- Establish and document design standards and best practices
- Conduct regular audits of existing interfaces to ensure system compliance
- Lead design critiques and system reviews with cross-functional teams
- Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency and scalability
- Support product teams in adopting and customizing system components
- Develop clear documentation and usage guidelines for internal stakeholders
- Bridge design and development through technical specifications and handoff
- Stay current with industry trends in design systems and component architecture
- Advocate for design system adoption across product initiatives
- Gather feedback from designers and developers to inform system updates
- Manage versioning and release cycles for system updates
- Ensure accessibility and internationalization are built into system components
- Work with UX researchers to validate component usability
- Integrate feedback from support and customer-facing teams
- Optimize design workflows using system-driven tools
- Mentor junior designers in proper use of the design system
- Participate in recruiting efforts for design and front-end roles
- Coordinate with brand team to align system with visual identity
- Evaluate third-party tools and libraries for potential integration
- Drive adoption of design tokens across platforms
- Support migration of legacy interfaces to the current system
- Improve tooling for design system contribution and maintenance
- Facilitate workshops to train teams on system updates
