Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is hiring a Senior Transmission Settlement Analyst to manage the critical back-office settlement revenue resulting from our transmission-related services and participation in the California ISO Western Energy Imbalance Market. You will ensure strict compliance with government standards and internal business practices while serving as a key training resource and leading process improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Perform transmission settlements analysis and billing.
- Manage and review the impact of PSE's Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) and departmental business practices.
- Create and complete FERC and other regulatory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with FERC/NERC procedures.
- Develop and prepare complex ad hoc reporting and data analysis.
- Act as a customer interface and liaison, ensuring customer compliance with business requirements.
- Participate in ongoing system and process improvement and automation efforts.
- Provide accounting interpretations and recommendations to leadership.
- Interact with PSE accounting and financial departments as needed.
- Responsible for CAISO Western Energy Imbalance Market settlement quality meter data.
- Review and update reported PSE and third-party meter data for accuracy and quality.
- Submit required settlement quality meter data to the market operator at required intervals.
- Work with Meter and Operations staff to maintain reported meter data accuracy.
- Support EIM Settlements and Transmission Billing as needed.
- Work with internal and external IT professionals to develop new features and ensure software tool accuracy.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five plus years of experience in the department or a related area.
- Knowledge and familiarity with basic business office software.
- Ability to maintain attention while performing detailed routine tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet plans and goals.
- Excellent communication and strong organizational skills.
- Capable of analyzing specific situations to determine appropriate actions.
- Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the electric industry and/or organized markets.
- Knowledge of the OATI software platform, PCI, or SAP.
- Knowledge of FERC, NERC, NAESB, and WECC.
