The Senior Technician - Digital Delivery is responsible for creating and managing 2D drawings and 3D models for infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to BIM standards and regulatory requirements. This senior role involves technical leadership, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and compliance with regional authority guidelines in the UAE and GCC.
Responsibilities
- Create and oversee 2D technical drawings and 3D digital models for infrastructure developments, ensuring precision and compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards
- Build and maintain detailed digital deliverables using industry-standard software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and specialized modeling tools
- Implement Level of Development (LOD) requirements across project phases and align all outputs with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and project-specific standards
- Conduct thorough quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews on digital outputs before internal approvals and submissions to authorities
- Work closely with engineers, BIM leads, and cross-disciplinary teams to resolve technical challenges, coordinate designs, and enhance digital workflows
- Perform clash detection and coordination analysis using tools like Navisworks, identifying and recording conflicts for resolution
- Update and manage digital models and drawings in response to design changes, stakeholder input, and authority feedback
- Assist in extracting quantities, schedules, and technical data from BIM models to support project planning and reporting
- Ensure proper file organization, version control, and documentation within Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms
- Guide junior technicians and support team members in applying best practices for digital delivery and technical accuracy
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and other GCC authorities throughout all project stages
- Support continuous improvement by identifying process optimizations and proposing innovative digital delivery solutions
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Digital Technology, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of practical experience in infrastructure projects, digital delivery, or BIM roles within the GCC region
- Advanced skills in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD for producing technical drawings and 3D models
- Proven experience working with wet utilities including drainage, stormwater, sewerage, irrigation, and water networks, as well as dry utilities such as electrical, telecom, ICT, and street lighting
- Solid understanding of BIM processes, Level of Development (LOD) standards, and model-based delivery methods
- Demonstrated ability in QA/QC procedures for digital and CAD deliverables
- Familiarity with Abu Dhabi regulatory bodies such as TAQA, TPD, DMT, and other GCC authorities
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities with a focus on accuracy and detail
- Proficient in version control, file management, and digital asset organization
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience using Navisworks for clash detection, coordination, and 3D visualization
- Familiarity with Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), ProjectWise, or similar collaborative systems
- Experience working on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects involving complex utility coordination
- Knowledge of ISO-based workflows and digital delivery standards
- Exposure to project management tools and methodologies
- Experience training or mentoring junior technical staff
- Understanding of digital asset management and lifecycle documentation
