About the Role

Parsons Transportation Group is hiring a Senior Sustainability & Resilience Specialist to guide strategy development and implementation for critical infrastructure projects. You will lead design, construction, and client teams through sustainability and resilience activities while contributing to business development.

What You'll Do

  • Apply sustainability and resilience concepts to complex infrastructure projects such as transportation and water conveyance.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to assess impacts on the natural and built environment.
  • Manage project planning, strategy development, report preparation, budgets, schedules, team education, and client communication.
  • Administer and prepare client deliverables and third-party sustainability certification applications like LEED or Envision.
  • Provide technical guidance, oversight, and mentorship to more junior colleagues.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, environmental planning, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of related experience with at least 8 years focused on sustainability and resilience-specific services.
  • Current ENV SP and LEED AP with specialty credentials.
  • Documented completion of third-party certifications (e.g., LEED, Envision) as the Project Team Administrator, or equivalent.
  • Experience preparing project-specific and programmatic sustainability plans, climate risk assessments, and resilience mitigation plans.
  • Experience in contractual scope, staffing, and budget management.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14040 and 14044 compliant Environmental Life Cycle Assessments, greenhouse gas inventory preparation, and ISO 31000 Risk Management principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Mastery of MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, or similar reporting and analytical tools.
  • Ability to work as a team member or autonomously, as needed.

  • Master’s degree.
  • Application of sustainability and resilience services specifically to transportation projects.
