Jobgether is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to provide technical leadership on the design of complex electrical substations up to 500 kV. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to construction support, while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence.
What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor engineers and designers to ensure technical excellence and project success.
- Oversee and review substation engineering deliverables, including layouts, grounding, lightning protection, and cable routing.
- Act as a project lead or independent technical reviewer, supporting project planning and execution.
- Provide technical guidance for clients and assist with business development.
- Perform quality reviews and conduct field visits for site assessments and construction support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to coordinate comprehensive substation design.
- Develop and improve internal processes, tools, and technologies to enhance project delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Senior Engineer I: 7+ years of related experience.
- Senior Engineer II: 10+ years of related experience.
- Senior Engineer III: 15+ years of related experience with PE required.
- Proficiency with NESC, IEEE, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Demonstrated experience creating and reviewing substation design drawings.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead remote teams, organize complex assignments, and manage multiple priorities.
- Exceptional communication, client relations, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with software applications used in substation design and project execution.
Nice to Have
- A Master’s degree, considered as part of total experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration strongly preferred.
