This position involves leading technical efforts in a mainframe environment specializing in Natural and Adabas, with responsibilities spanning development, optimization, mentoring, and system integration within enterprise-grade solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of mainframe applications using Natural and Adabas
- Collaborate with architects to define system structure and technical direction
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting for production and performance issues
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across teams
- Ensure code quality through peer reviews and adherence to standards
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Support integration between mainframe and distributed systems
- Optimize database access and query performance in Adabas
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes
- Participate in system modernization and migration initiatives
- Work closely with project managers to estimate and deliver on timelines
- Implement automation for testing and deployment pipelines
- Ensure compliance with security and audit requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in system reliability and efficiency
- Stay current with evolving mainframe technologies and industry trends
