Key Responsibilities
- Define system requirements for satellite communication missions
- Lead trade studies for spacecraft subsystems and configurations
- Develop mission architectures for low Earth orbit constellations
- Perform link budget analysis and RF system modeling
- Support payload design and integration activities
- Conduct system-level simulations and performance validation
- Coordinate with hardware and software teams on interface specifications
- Ensure compliance with space environment and reliability standards
- Manage technical documentation and design reviews
- Troubleshoot system-level issues during testing and operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in space systems engineering
- Proven experience with satellite communication systems
- Strong background in RF and digital communications theory
- Familiarity with orbit mechanics and mission analysis tools
- Experience with systems engineering lifecycle processes
- Proficiency in MATLAB, STK, or equivalent modeling software
- Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems including power, thermal, and ADCS
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS
- Security clearance eligibility required
Preferred Skills
- Master’s degree in engineering or physics
- Experience with small satellite platforms
- Background in 5G or wireless communication standards
- Knowledge of spectrum management and regulatory frameworks
- Experience in agile development environments
- Familiarity with ground station operations
- Exposure to on-orbit commissioning and testing
- Project management experience in space programs
- Understanding of TT&C systems
- Prior work with international space agencies or commercial providers
