About the Role
This position involves delivering mental health counseling services to clients across a range of emotional and psychological concerns. The counselor will use clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals in both one-on-one and group formats, ensuring care aligns with professional standards and client needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions using established therapeutic methods
- Assess client mental health through interviews and standardized evaluations
- Develop and update treatment plans based on client progress
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers for integrated care
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary
- Conduct intake interviews for new clients
- Educate clients and families on mental health conditions and coping strategies
- Adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines
- Participate in regular clinical supervision
- Attend team meetings and case conferences
- Support program development and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Engage in ongoing professional development
- Respond to client communications within established timeframes
- Coordinate referrals to community resources
- Maintain licensure through required continuing education
- Uphold confidentiality in all client interactions
- Contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace culture
Nice to Have
- Experience working in community mental health settings
- Training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Familiarity with dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Experience with adolescent or school-based populations
- Certification in a specialized therapy modality
- Prior work in outpatient behavioral health
- Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment
- Teletherapy delivery experience

Compensation
$65,000 – $80,000 annually
