Colac Area Health is looking for a Senior Solicitor to serve as a technical legal specialist. You will assess and resolve complex, high-risk land title matters, providing expert statutory interpretation and advice to protect the integrity of the land titles Register and avoid litigation.
What You'll Do
- Assess and resolve complex, high-risk land title matters.
- Provide expert statutory interpretation and advice to protect the integrity of the land titles Register and avoid litigation.
- Contribute to regulatory frameworks, policy and process improvement.
- Contribute to guidance development and capability building.
- Provide leadership in the adaptation and application of concepts to operational matters within your local work area.
- Provide specialist professional services or advice.
- Interpret and apply business plans and policies in your area of responsibility and provide advice to others on implementation issues.
What We're Looking For
- A qualification in Law and being admitted, or eligible for admission, as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria or in a related discipline.
Nice to Have
- Sound knowledge of the Electronic Conveyancing National Law (Victoria), Transfer of Land Act 1958, Subdivision Act 1988, Water Act 1989, Operating Requirements for electronic conveyancing, Participation Rules for electronic conveyancing, Registrar’s Requirements for paper conveyancing transactions, and associated acts and regulations.
- 3+ years’ post-admission experience.
