Candidates near Seattle, WA, Detroit, MI, or New York, NY can optionally utilize office spaces. We're searching for a professional who: - Demonstrates empathy for homebuyers and enjoys developing technology that enhances their journey - Brings unique perspectives and fresh ideas - Thrives in dynamic startup environments with collaborative problem-solving - Exhibits a team-first approach with constructive communication - Continuously learns and stays current with emerging backend and AI technologies - Has experience with Large Language Models in software engineering - Works independently with sound decision-making skills - Enjoys collaborating across a geographically distributed team Responsibilities include: - Designing and maintaining scalable Python microservices - Owning backend architecture and API design - Deploying and supporting production systems - Driving engineering best practices - Collaborating with product, design, and frontend teams - Leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps tools - Supporting on-call rotations Required Qualifications: - 5+ years of software project delivery experience - Expertise in consumer-facing website backend technologies - Understanding of modern software engineering practices - Proficiency in Python and microservice architectures - AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes expertise - Experience with AI-powered developer tools - Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities Bonus Qualifications: - LLM workflow integration experience - Financial services or real estate technology background - Frontend framework knowledge - Observability tool familiarity Compensation Range: $160,000 - $190,000 USD
