Instacart is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Experimentation Platform team. You will shape the systems that drive data-informed product decisions across our four-sided marketplace, designing, building, and evolving internal A/B testing and metrics platforms in close collaboration with data scientists and engineers.

What You'll Do

Design, build, and evolve internal A/B testing and metrics platforms.
Ship user-facing capabilities and enable new experimentation methodologies.
Develop tooling that empowers teams across the company to move faster and make better decisions.
Work closely with other teams to understand pain points around experimentation and translate them into user-friendly solutions.
Suggest and drive new initiatives.
Mentor other team members and champion engineering excellence.

What We're Looking For

A strong sense of ownership and the ability to independently drive work from problem definition to delivery.
A willingness to learn and adopt emerging, AI-first technologies.
Solid experience with common data infrastructure technologies (Python, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt) in a production environment.
Experience contributing to a large, shared codebase and collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners.
Strong proficiency in SQL, with experience writing, debugging, and optimizing queries.
Strong knowledge of React and experience building and maintaining user-facing web applications.
6+ years of professional experience in a similar engineering role.

Nice to Have

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
Background in statistics or hands-on experience with A/B testing.

Compensation varies by location: CA, NY, CT, NJ: $199,000-$210,000 USD; WA: $191,000-$201,000 USD; OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $183,000-$193,000 USD; All other states: $166,000-$175,000 USD.
