GetYourGuide is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Traveler Assistance (TARS) team and transform how we support millions of travelers. You will design and develop highly scalable systems for an autonomous AI agent, tackling complex queries through chat infrastructure, email forwarding, LLM integration, and phishing prevention.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop highly scalable systems for chat infrastructure, email forwarding, LLM integration, and phishing prevention that serve millions of travelers.
- Own full-stack responsibilities, with a primary focus on backend systems but including frontend work when needed.
- Continuously improve our systems by aggressively removing tech debt and insisting on simple, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Take an active role in operational work and maintenance, raising the bar for engineering craftsmanship.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, propose technical solutions, and deliver working software that drives measurable impact.
- Work in a cross-functional mission team alongside product managers, designers, conversational designers, and data scientists.
- Leverage AI daily to accelerate your own productivity and push the team's capabilities to the next level.
- Stay current with the latest trends in LLM development and bring relevant innovations to the team.
- Mentor engineers, contribute to team culture, and elevate performance standards.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in Java/Spring and the ability to build features from scratch.
- Ability to contribute to the frontend codebase (ideally using TypeScript and Vue).
- A strong background in designing and implementing scalable service-oriented architectures and a good understanding of design patterns.
- Experience building and running production microservices in distributed, cloud, and Kubernetes-based environments, with modern observability tools.
- A positive, pro-active, team-oriented mindset, and a passion for mentoring and sharing knowledge.
- A passion for delivering clean code and continuously learning about new tools, languages, and practices.
- Be excited to experiment with and leverage AI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice to Have
- Have built SaaS products before.
- Experience building and shipping LLM-powered products.
- Experience improving products through A/B experimentation.
