As a Senior Service Designer, you will play a central role in shaping services that are simple, effective, and accessible for all users. You'll work within multidisciplinary teams to translate complex public sector challenges into clear, human-centred solutions, ensuring alignment with government design standards and best practices.
What You'll Do
- Lead the creation of service blueprints, journey maps, and design concepts that reflect deep user understanding
- Advocate for user needs throughout the design process, ensuring inclusivity and clarity
- Translate abstract ideas into tangible prototypes and communicate them through compelling narratives
- Collaborate with researchers, delivery managers, and technical teams to co-create solutions
- Facilitate workshops and lead discussions to align stakeholders around shared goals

- Support bid development and contribute to hiring and onboarding initiatives
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to explain design thinking to diverse audiences, including non-designers
- Experience interpreting user research to inform service improvements
- Strong understanding of how technical constraints influence design decisions
- Proven track record in agile environments, contributing to high-fidelity and low-fidelity prototypes
- Familiarity with the GDS/GOV.UK design system and service standard
