Parsons Transportation Group is hiring a Senior Roadway Engineer

Parsons Transportation Group is looking for a Senior Roadway Engineer to lead and manage the design and development of complex roadway projects. You will work on a variety of urban and rural roadways, highways, and interstate systems, ensuring they meet client requirements and adhere to industry standards.

What You'll Do

• Lead the full design lifecycle of roadway projects, including concept, preliminary and final design, alignment, grading, and pavement design.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess progress and address issues.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT requirements.
• Assist in preparing project proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project reviews.

What We're Looking For

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum of 8+ years of related work experience in roadway design engineering, including project management.
• Solid roadway geometric design background.
• Proficiency in roadway design software (e.g., MicroStation, InRoads, Open Roads).
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT design standards and guidelines.
• Intermediate skills with Excel (macros, equations).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice to Have

• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate team members in completion of project tasks.
• Experience providing training and leading technical discussions related to roadway engineering.
• Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) experience.
