nVent is looking for a Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer to join a passionate new product development team focused on innovation within the extensive HOFFMAN cooling product line. You will be instrumental in launching products from concept to deployment and performing research and development on vapor-compression technology systems.
What You'll Do
- Work with multi-functional teams to launch products by taking market specifications through stage-gate processes from concept to development to deployment.
- Collaborate with product management, manufacturing, and quality and lab test personnel to launch new air conditioning, heat exchanger, and filter fan products.
- Perform research and development of vapor-compression technology systems.
- Perform calculations, analyses, and simulations to validate designs, specifications, and predict product performance using tools like Engineering Equation Solver (EES), VapCyc, and CoilDesigner.
- Partner with the R&D lab and UL standards team on testing and certifications.
- Specify purchased part requirements and work with supply leaders to source parts for use in designs.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with vapor-compression system design and component selection.
- Experience with refrigeration system modeling, simulation, and testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders across several lines of business.
Nice to Have
- 5+ years of experience in the HVACR industry.

- Compensation range: $76,000.00 - $141,100.00
