As a Field Service Engineer on the 2nd Shift at Intuitive, you will ensure our surgical systems operate flawlessly within your designated area. You'll install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all Intuitive products, directly supporting our mission to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human.
What You'll Do
- Install, support, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all Intuitive products within your designated area.
- Meet and surpass service agreements and warranty obligations.
- Provide technical support to end-users and other Intuitive employees.
- Conduct training sessions at Intuitive facilities, training centers, and hospitals.
- Perform scheduled maintenance activities such as system inspections, preventive maintenance, software updates, recalls, and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all Intuitive products and associated equipment within designated timeframes.
- Coordinate and perform system and hardware delivery and installation.
- Accurately document service activities, maintain records, and provide comprehensive reports.
- Complete all administrative duties, including spare parts inventory, Field Activity Reports, Return Material Authorizations, and Expense Reports on time.
- Maintain all Intuitive-provided items, such as tools, calibrated tool sets, vehicles, laptops, and iPads.
- Support and collaborate with Intuitive teams to facilitate company goals, such as trade show support and training.
- Provide feedback to HQ and take part in continuous improvement projects.
- Complete all required training, including equipment training and professional development courses.
- Manage all aspects of your assigned area, including responding to customer needs, maintaining system configurations, and establishing customer rapport.
What We're Looking For

- Ability to travel up to 75% as required.
- Willingness to perform ad hoc tasks assigned by management.
- Reside within a reasonable distance, typically within 30 miles, of the assigned territory.
- Ability to work a flex shift, second shift, or other type of shift as required.
- Demonstrate individual characteristics expected of Intuitive personnel (e.g., character, capacity, energy, experience).
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. and move wheeled objects up to 1,200 lbs.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Vendor Credentialing approval for access to operating rooms.
- Compliance with all necessary vaccination requirements as mandated by the vendor credentialing process.
Nice to Have
- Minimum 1-3 years of Field Service Experience.
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent training/experience.
- Proven track record of troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- General computer skills.
- Comfortable working off hours with limited support.
- Excellent administrative and record keeping skills.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position. You will be based in your assigned territory and travel to customer sites as needed.
