Pinnacle Specialty Group, Inc. is looking for a Senior Quality Control/Assurance Engineer to provide leadership on complex technical and quality challenges. You will define quality engineering programs, develop QA procedures, and ensure compliance with all quality requirements, while serving as a key point of contact for stakeholders including DOE-SR personnel.
What You'll Do
- Define the scope of technical and quality engineering programs, developing effective solutions for unique or controversial problems.
- Provide quality guidance to less senior professionals and apply advanced experience to resolve complex issues.
- Provide leadership and functional expertise in determining solutions to complex problems and exploring new applications of engineering and QA principles.
- Evaluate program results through surveillances, monitoring, assessments, and reviews; prepare reports and recommendations.
- Develop QA programs and procedures, ensuring compliance and effective execution of technical and quality assurance requirements.
- Prepare plans including schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements for technical and quality engineering tasks.
- Serve on a Facility Review Board, providing QA expertise in support of facility start-up and/or operation.
- Support facility/project needs by conducting procurement, procedure, and work package reviews.
- Communicate objectives and results to customers, colleagues, and management, preparing reports and professional papers.
- Communicate with DOE-SR personnel regarding QA Program and corrective action status.
- Serve as a QA expert in evaluating the QA Programs of major program participants, including subcontractors and suppliers, to recommend corrective actions.
- Perform Supplier Surveillance Oversight activities utilizing checklists and review supplier submittals, design output documents, and procurement requests.
What We're Looking For
- Education and experience per one of the following tiers: PhD with 5 years of QA/QC/Engineering experience; MS with 8 years; BS with 10 years; Non-Technical degree with 13 years; OR at least 16 years of multi-disciplined professional QA or engineering experience with increasing responsibility, of which 10 years must have been in a senior position.
- Practical experience in quality control, work control, materials management, civil/structural, mechanical, maintenance, construction, or related areas.
- Ability to perform weekly field walk-downs of job sites, which may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces, walking distances over a half mile, and climbing ladders.
- Previous Mechanical and Welding Inspection and/or Fabrication experience.
- Working knowledge of American Welding Society (AWS) Codes.
- Working knowledge of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B31.3 welding code.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship is required due to government/federal regulations.
Nice to Have
- Candidates who have possessed a previous DOE clearance.
- Current or prior certification as a lead auditor.
- Surveillance experience.
- Working knowledge of ASNT NDE Methods.
- Working knowledge of pressure testing.
