Swiss Re Group is hiring a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer / SDET

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer / SDET role focused on advancing QA practices through automation, DevSecOps integration, and technical leadership. Contributes to end-to-end quality assurance within a cybersecurity context, with responsibilities spanning test strategy, framework design, and testing across all layers of service development.

Responsibilities

  • Implement test automation and production code to support service development
  • Develop tools and microservices that enable quality assurance across multiple layers
  • Design, build, and maintain test frameworks and environments to ensure fast and reliable testing cycles
  • Lead the definition and execution of quality strategies, ensuring requirements and standards are clear before implementation
  • Promote and support testing, automation, and DevOps best practices across development teams

Requirements

  • Demonstrated passion for quality assurance and innovation in delivering robust end-to-end solutions
  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience
  • Proven experience in designing, building, integrating, and maintaining scalable automated testing frameworks
  • Experience creating a microservices-based testing landscape using DevOps practices, including containerized environments, integrated services, and dataset management
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing unit, mutation, component, and integration tests with emphasis on speed and reliability
  • Familiarity with UI testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, and use of the Page Object Model pattern
  • Strong understanding of API testing, particularly RESTful services
  • At least three years of Java development experience within testing frameworks and Spring-based RESTful applications
  • Experience validating non-functional requirements including performance, reliability, and security across services and tools
  • Proficient communication skills in spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle best practices and modern testing methodologies
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork and customer needs
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and advocate for testing strategies, automation, DevOps, and quality standards within teams
  • Proactively drives initiative clarity by ensuring requirements and quality standards are defined prior to execution

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of authentication, authorization, and role management systems
  • Experience working in cloud environments, with Azure DevOps being an advantage
  • Experience testing integrations with external systems and managing system migrations
  • Exposure to current advancements in AI technologies
  • Hands-on experience managing CI/CD pipelines and release processes to ensure high-quality software delivery
  • Collaborated with QA communities to define, share, and promote quality standards across teams, extending impact beyond immediate squad
  • Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices, including Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Hold an ISTQB Certified Tester - Foundation Level certification or equivalent

Compensation

Base salary range between EUR 60,000 and EUR 100,000 for full-time role in Spain. Performance-based variable compensation component included
