Bitpanda is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to own and elevate the quality strategy for the Bitpanda DeFi Wallet, a mobile app at the heart of our Web3 ecosystem. In this role, you will architect scalable quality frameworks, drive automation maturity, and embed security and usability thinking early in the development lifecycle to ensure fast, confident, and secure releases.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end quality for the DeFi Wallet, designing and executing comprehensive manual and automated test strategies across mobile, frontend, backend, and API layers.
- Architect, extend, and maintain automation frameworks (Playwright E2E, integration, API, and load testing), and continuously optimize CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab) to maximize feedback speed and deployment confidence.
- Drive QA strategy within the SDLC, actively shaping Scrum/Kanban practices, embedding Shift-Left methodologies, and advocating for testability, usability, and security from the design phase onward.
- Define and evolve the release testing strategy, balancing cadence, device coverage, exploratory testing, and automation to protect users in a high-risk Web3 environment.
- Raise the quality bar across the team, mentoring a QA intern and supporting developers on automation, testing best practices, and clean coding standards.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive QA experience in mobile-first environments, with strong hands-on expertise across Front-End, Back-End, API, and integration testing.
- Proven experience building and scaling automation frameworks (ideally TypeScript-based) using tools like Playwright, and integrating them into enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab).
- Understanding of Web3 transaction lifecycles and blockchain-related risks, and can design testing strategies that mitigate financial, security, and data integrity risks.
- Strong analytical skills. You don’t just find bugs, you identify systemic weaknesses, edge cases, architectural risks, and recurring patterns.
- Fluent in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and apply clean coding principles to automation, ensuring maintainable, scalable, and collaborative test suites.
