EX Squared is hiring a Senior Python Backend Developer (Remote - US)

Jobgether is hiring a Senior Python Backend Developer to design and develop scalable backend systems and APIs for critical applications used by tens of thousands to millions of users daily. In this remote role, you will actively code using Python frameworks and lead a team to build robust microservices for data-intensive products at the intersection of fintech and software engineering.

What You'll Do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Python-based APIs and microservices powering customer-facing applications.
• Design scalable and highly available backend systems for high-volume usage.
• Implement data caching strategies, asynchronous processes, and query/index optimization for performance.
• Collaborate with product owners, project managers, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and delivery timelines.
• Integrate systems with third-party providers and services.
• Participate in code reviews, on-call rotations, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude to accelerate development and maintain high-quality code.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience developing APIs and backend systems using Python frameworks such as FastAPI and Django.
• Proven experience building scalable systems serving hundreds of thousands of simultaneous users.
• Strong expertise in data caching strategies, asynchronous data processing, and query tuning.
• Experience with relational databases, ORMs, and SQL optimization.
• Proficiency with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of system monitoring, telemetry, and performance optimization.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Redis, Postgres, and AWS services (SQS, RDS, Dynamo).
• Familiarity with front-end technologies like React or Next.js.
